OIAAI and coronavirus (COVID-19)
If you have the following symptoms DO NOT attempt to come to the office. We have a direct COVID-19 symptoms line 405-397-6398 for you to schedule a TELEMEDICINE appointment.
COVID-19 SYMPTOMS: FEVER | COUGH | SHORTNESS OF BREATH
Dear Patients of OIAAI:
We would like to take this opportunity to provide you with some information with regards to OIAAI office preparedness and the new Coronavirus (COVID-19). While it is possible that this will have little impact on us locally, all of us here at OIAAI are preparing for the chance that the communities we serve may be affected in the coming days and weeks.
While the clear majority of COVID-19 cases have led to flu-like symptoms and resolve in 2-3 weeks, it is prudent to be proactive and very aggressive in preventing infection. The most effective thing that all of us can do is to wash our hands with soap and water (or alcohol-based hand sanitizer when not available) and to avoid touching our faces.
As medical professionals, our most serious concern is for people who have disorders of the immune system or suffer from other serious health problems, including asthma. To ensure these patients can be seen in the healthiest and safest possible environment, if you have a fever or think you might be infected with COVID-19, do not come to the office for your appointment or for shots. Call the Oklahoma Acute Disease Service Epidemiologist-on-call at (405) 271-4060 for information on COVID-19 testing. Then, call our front desk and we will be happy to provide you with a new appointment. OIAAI employee policy requires our providers and staff to stay at home if they are ill as well. Be assured that all OIAAI employees are following the protocols recommended by the World Health Organization. Please see the World Health Organization (WHO) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) links below for additional information: WHO: Coronavirus disease 2019 and https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html.
We will continue to closely monitor all aspects of the COVID-19 situation, and will update any changes on our Facebook page.
OIAAI has and will continue to be a safe place to get your medical care.
